Personal Training can be so beneficial when it comes to fitness.
Having a personal trainer was one of the reasons I met my goals when it came to fitness. I had that extra push when I wanted to give up and thought I couldn’t. I started my fitness journey working out on my own, and I e day decided to get a personal trainer when my gym offered a 50% off deal. Here are some benefits I found in having a personal trainer compared to working out on my own time.
1. Motivation
As I mentioned, I had that extra push, most of us work harder in the presence of others, and I do anyways. Having a trainer by your side can provide encouragement and more energy. A personal trainer can also help you set goals, create a plan you can accomplish, and have someone by your side to celebrate with you the day you reach them.
2. Consistency
Sometimes it is hard to stick to a program and create a habit; a personal trainer can hold you accountable and help you overcome all the excuses you would have previously made up in your mind. It is a lot harder to skip the gym when you have someone there waiting on you that you paid your hard-earned money.
3. Confidence
The gym can be very intimidating, especially when just getting started. You walk in there, and it is very overwhelming. You don’t know where to start. Having a personal trainer can help you to feel more comfortable. A personal trainer can also help you with your form to know you are doing the workout correctly and not looking silly about going viral on what not to do in the gym. After a few sessions with your trainer, you will feel ready to take on the weight room independently. You will have a boost in your ego that will allow you strong self-confidence and self-efficiency, which can help you stick to achieving your long-term goals.
4. Avoid Injury
If you are new to working out, you may notice that some movements may be painful. It is worth hiring a trainer if this is the case. Back in 2018, I had back surgery and was told by my doctor that I needed to build my core muscles back up, but I did not know how because I was always in pain when I tried to do so. My trainer showed me the proper way to do so so that I did not injure myself. Taking the time to learn the correct exercise technique can improve your results and prevent an injury.
5. Fun!
Believe it or not, exercising can be enjoyable, especially when you have someone there with you to whom you can talk to. Working with a trainer that you like can provide you with more gratification from your workouts. I have had two different trainers and have created a strong connection with both. Creating a bond with your trainer can also allow you a cheaper rate. I had a trainer that loved my motivation to become in shape. When I couldn’t afford her for one month, she cut the price down so that I could. Now that I no longer need a personal trainer, if I ever have questions, they are just a text away and are more than happy to guide me in the right direction.
